Narrow band anti-reflection coatings
In the dependence of substrate's material, its dimensions, requirements for reflectance and other factors, we have made various designs of anti-reflection coatings (single and multi layer), including non quarter coatings.
For example, some crystals have high adhesion only with fixed film-forming materials which are used as transition materials. The example is Iceland spar or calcite. It refers to such materials, being widely applicable for polarizing optics.
Extra layers are also used to broad the anti-reflection band , that is of interest for large-sized optics (for example, protecting screens for monitors) or for enlargement of quantity of parts in a coating run.
Anti-reflection coatings with reflectance R <0,05 - 0,1 % are widely used in laser systems. In this case we apply the technology of non quarter coatings, using an acousto - optical spectrometer for technological inspection. It allows to make highly reproducible coatings with R <0.05 %.
An example of standard narrow band antireflection coating is shown on the curve below.
Narrow band anti-reflection coating with minimized reflectance
Nowadays this type of coating is adjusted for following wavelength: 532 nm, 633 nm, 655 nm, 780 nm, 1060 nm with reflectance R<0.05%. As a substrate material can be used BK-7 glass, fused silica and crystal quartz
